Global Involvement

Overseas Study

Broaden your horizons with global involvement: opportunities to learn in your local, state, national, and worldwide community. In Overseas Study programs, you will enhance your understanding of your major in an international context, gain new perspectives from a different region, and strengthen language skills. Your world will expand, and IU's wide range of offerings abroad will allow you to choose an experience that fits your interests.

Through Service-Learning, you will contribute meaningful service to your community, and the community will provide you with a unique and inspiring educational experience within the context of an academic course. Service-learning courses include practical experience, and will challenge you to understand what you are learning in a deeper sense while fostering your sense of civic engagement.

Co-curricular Learning

Coursework + Experience = Refreshing Opportunities

At Indiana University, students in all disciplines have opportunities to participate in service-learning classes. See how Professor Olga Kalentzidou’s students focused on issues of food security while volunteering at Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard.

Study Abroad + Course Credit

Study abroad while fulfilling course credit towards your major!  Learn how Alyssa Claymiller spent her study abroad in Wollongong, Australia taking courses that transferred to her exercise science major at IU while learning about Australia's rich biodiversity by working in a lab.
